ARTIST STATEMENT
I am an artist working in multiple mediums across multimedia focusing on bridging the gap and finding connections between fine art and technology. I view everything pre internet as the CMYK Universe and everything post as the RGB Universe. The CMYK universe was finite, tactile and in many ways primitive. The origins of painting, context, color and space serve as the foundations for Our transition into the RGB Universe. Now we experience the world through the lens/screens of this hyper charged RGB universe. It is the constant connection to these devices, which keeps our minds in a constant state of ON. Content and information are the new mediums. I believe the mass consumption of visual information through our constant connection and addiction to the Internet is stimulating the occipital lobe, the visual cortex of our brain, far beyond where it has been. It is changing our brain chemistry. This generation of children will speak, consume, and understand a visual language in a way that humans never have before. There is a an overlapping convergence of painting, sculpting, photography and video that is making these mediums indistinguishable. I am focused on exploring. How the foundation of the CMYK universe will influence and drive the direction and work artists are exploring now.
